Online Quilt Shops
There are so many specialty quilt shops on the internet, it is easy to waste valuable studio/sewing time on a search for the right place to buy from. At the same time, the internet offers a great opportunity for all of us to look up directories and fabric sites without leaving home.
I do support local quilt stores as much as possible. Without them I could not escape my studio and visit face-to-face with other quilters... nor could I browse through the delightful fabric bolts and actually touch each one. If you have time and you need inspiration, by all means drive to your local stores!
However, if you are short on time... need a very specific color or special product that your local stores don't carry... live in a remote location... or just don't feel like going out today... check out these wonderful, reliable resources listed below.
The criteria I use when choosing a site to list here is:
1. Scans of fabric must be of decent quality.
2. The site must offer a wide variety of fabric and other products for quilting.
3. The site must be continuously updated and operated in a professional manner (ie: If I send in a question about an order, I would like it answered within 24 hours or better).

Stitches
In business since 1998, Stitches has built a reputation as a competitive resource for a broad range of fibre art supplies. I travelled to this quilt shop on Salt Spring Island, B.C., Canada in August 2009... the trip was well worth it. Stitches has everything a fibre artist could want! The online oredering is not as diverse as the physical store, so if you're looking for something special and it isn't listed on the internet... give Stitches a call, they likely have it and can send it to you.
